    Big storms today and tonight

They're predicting severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and possible tornadoes for much of the East Coast today and tonight. Stay safe everyone!

Me, I'm resigned to losing power and just hope we're not out for days.

I've got my fingers crossed that it won't be as bad as they're predicting.

The dogs are ready....calming collars on (actually for the vacuum cleaner at this moment) and will retreat to the basement if the thunder gets bad enough.

    Stay safe, everyone!

We've had 5 inches of rain here so far today! Not fun for us or Amber!

I feel your pain. This is the second severe storm to go through our area (Georgia) in about a week. We had 6 inches of rain last night, with severe thunderstorms - lots of thunder, lightning, strong winds with trees down (not in our yard, thank God), and driving rain. We didn't have any tornadoes in our area, but our back yard is a pond - so over it. My sister and niece in Virginia is now under a tornado watch from the same storm system. My niece in Texas had an F3 tornado hit 30 miles from her house in last week's storm. Ugh.

Prayers for anyone in the path of this storm. Be aware and stay safe!

We are in Kitty Hawk right now. Just secured all of the patio furniture. Me and the boys are in bed watching Netflix. We pulled the vehicles under the house. The owner called me and warned of severe storms and golf ball sized hail. Hoping it passes over fast!

I thought the prediction of 2.5" here was bad. Yours is worse. Take care.

Oh my gosh. We had up to 60 mm predicted, +2 inches, which I think we didn't get, haven't checked the rain gauge yet. Nothing like what some of you are saying but our ground is still frozen in places so run off is a concern. Hope everyone's basement is dry.

We lucked out! One big storm raced through in the afternoon, but otherwise just rain near me. Lots of tornado warnings and fallen trees in the region, though.
