I don't know if the cams described here utilize P2P (Peer to Peer) protocol but this article by security researcher and reporter Brian Krebs reinforces my reluctance to jump into the Internet of Things.

Getting OT: I read an article about internet stuff somewhere. Can't find it now. Someone commented about their car's tire pressure sensor failing and getting quoted something like $600 for a replacement. 'Uh no, I have a pressure gauge that works fine, thank you.'
He added that there must be a market for a vehicle that doesn't have an infotainment centre, backup cam, lane departure sensor, heated steering wheel, Bluetooth, electric hatch opener/closer, etc. Such a vehicle would cost thousands less. I'd buy it.
Though heated seats would be swell.
