Hard conversation to have with a client

I have a client who rescued a 8 month old GSD from her brother in law. The baby was being neglected. The client is totally overwhelmed by the ne addition and can not cope with the way the dynamic in the house has changed. Last night was the 3rd time she stated she is considering re homing this baby . I have only met with them once. He is an amazing pup. If I had the ability I would ask to take him on for service dog training. He needs lots of work but the potential is there.

Her husband keeps telling her to try. Today I have to have the conversation about the right home for the dog. If she is at her wits end and can not give this baby what he needs she really should consider finding him the right home. Her being overwhelmed is not helping this pup or her. She has two other big dogs neither of them are trained. I really understand her husbands desire but he is not the one that has to invest the time and energy into training him.

Really she is struggling with PUPPY Brain he does not have any issues other than that he needs to be trained and we all know that takes time and effort

I personally am so in love with this puppy. Its not going to be easy to be emotionless on this topic.

Went better than expected. She is willing to work just not very hard. she does not want the dog but her husband does. Pretty clear she wants to try for a few more weeks

    Very sad indeed...

Poor puppy needs to be rehomed before she loses her cool and does something bad to her. They both need to be on the same page and if they are not, it is clearly a disservice to the dog.

My question is..why would they get another puppy, when they already have 2 large dogs at home that are not trained?

Probably wasn't a smart decision...I hope you can find a solution for this pup.
