Burning bush has ridged bark...euonymus.

Does anyone have any idea of what this is? It's a weedy thing with ridged bark. I gave a small piece to my goats and they ate it immediately. I need to make sure it's OK for them in larger quantities though.

Weediness means it's not getting enough sun...they get to be wonderfully full bushes. Bright red in Fall. I love them.

NOT for goats!
That looks like it. Thanks! Unfortunately, some say it's poisonous but my official goat site says that only the berries are. I suppose to be safe, I'll leave it off the menu but that's unfortunate. They loved the little piece of it. I'll throw it on the burn pile.
They say that about English ivy too but people feed it to their goats all of the time (so do I). The problem with these kinds of things is that many of the issues these plants can create in goats only occur in "starving" goats which is a term used for those with inadequate nutrition. I was actually encouraged by that post because it didn't seem to cause a problem for that one woman's goats which was probably because she was feeding her goats something other than browse. Fias farms is the go-to list but they hedge by not putting certain plants on either the edible or poisonous list so they list the berries but not the plant itself.
