Delivery photo. Seriously?

I can't tell from the photo but it's not boxed or anything? Strange. Amazon around here sends so much packaging and boxing its almost funny.

We get the mail for one of our neighbours and always drop it off for them. Their house appears to be in disarray every time we drop it off. I have to wonder how much of my mail is going there that I never see.

It would have easily fit in our mailbox. It's just a bottle of supplements. I have no idea of what was going on here. I put the numbers on both sides of the mailbox.

At one point, I bought one of those yard sale signs that you stick in the ground and attached a giant piece of poster board to it with a sign in Sharpie pointing to our driveway with our house number above the arrow. Didn't make a bit of difference.

The drivers coming out of Baltimore are seemingly not all qualified to be making deliveries. We've ended up with three house number signs out by our mailbox, the last one specifically purchased and angled for the benefit of Amazon drivers. I make a point of tracking every Amazon delivery...keep a tab open on the computer...so that I remember to check from time to time, especially for sensitive items that shouldn't be out in extreme heat/cold. I've actually had to go flag down the truck on our cul-de-sac when the driver is obviously confused by having to find a specific address. Everyone has numbers by their mailbox and, for the houses that are at the curb, on their houses. No excuse for not having an accurate delivery.

You'll also notice that the closer a truck gets to your address, Amazon has a tracking map up, showing how many stops are left before your delivery. It's not accurate....doesn't always update. It disappears from their site when the package is delivered...and then their site should show a photo or indication of where/how the package was left (mailbox, resident, etc.). Your photo wasn't special for you....it's what they do. Maybe it just started up in your area...we've had it practically ever since Baltimore became part of the delivery equation. The drivers sometimes lie, though...again, I think it's because they're too lazy to take a picture or perhaps they don't have camera capability (although I'd think Amazon would require that since it's part of their protocol).

I wonder if they're using a GPS system that tells them the wrong location and they don't bother to check the address. Our house is on a corner lot that's actually shaped like a triangle, not a square. Every GPS system locates our current home out at the far end (the point) of our yard and directs vehicles to come up the street behind the house. It announces you've reached your destination out by this large rock at the far corner of our lot. Occasionally we'll find a package out in the driveway, which is behind our house and not on the correct street. However, the GPS on our phones, in our cars, and when we've ordered an Uber and watch the approach online, every single system brings the vehicle up behind our house. Some Uber drivers will just idle out there and I have to go out and wave them around to the front. Not that it's a good excuse for their inattention or confusion, but people are so dependent on GPS systems these days that they just take the directions as they are announced without verifying the house number or location.
