      Delivery photo. Seriously?

Didn't get my dog supplements. Checked on amazon prime and found that it was listed as handed off to a person. So I did what I normally do under these circumstances and checked the doorstep of my neighbor's abandoned house. Sure enough, there it was. Two days after it had been delivered.

This happens all of the time. I was getting fed up so I went back to the site to make yet another complaint and saw this photo. Below the photo it says "What do you think about this photo?"

I am sad to say that I did not take the high road. It might be better to say that I took the bait. I clicked on the link and posted this.

"This is a photo of the doorstep of my neighbor's abandoned house. The piece of paper it is sitting on is a set of instructions stating that this is not" our address "to which the package is addressed and it should be delivered to our house instead. Congratulations! You're brilliant!"

In all fairness, this person did not look at the numbers attached to the side of the porch and did not read the note but took the time to take the photo and post it on amazon to prove that he/she had delivered it to the wrong address. Seriously?

Oh, man...I like those photos. Quite a few times, the picture has been identifiable to me as a particular neighbor...at least I know where to go to fetch my package.

Most of the time, though, the site says it was handed off to someone and there's no picture....I always figure the driver is cutting corners and saving time by not having to take a picture if they lie and say someone took it. At that point, if it's misdelivered, I have no clue if someone really did misrepresent themselves and consider my package as a free gift to themselves or not...there's never been a resurfacing of the package. Most of the time, though, the "resident" noted on the site is actually just my doormat.

If I were you, I'd write that sign in darker marker on a larger piece of paper...stick it on the lower part of the door with AMAZON DELIVERIES at the top of the paper. On the ground, it probably just looks like a scrap of trash to someone who's clueless to begin with.

We had an Amazon package misdelivered to our house on Saturday. Luckily I was able to google the name on it and get a phone number. I gave a call and they lived just a little way down the street. When I googled the address, it did show our house, however. I was just glad to get their package to them!

I once had an Amazon package put out on a rock wall next to my driveway instead of up on the porch near the door. Lazy delivery driver! From my experience, most of the problems came early on when Amazon was starting to do their own delivery service. It seems to have gotten better over the past few months. I never had these problems with UPS, FedEx, or the mailman.

We've had the Amazon deliveries dropped off at the end of a long driveway. One time a single slender book in a small box, one that fit the book precisely, was thrown in the middle of the driveway near the entrance. One of my mother-in-law's elderly visitors saw it as a "large box" and ran her car off the edge of the driveway into a culvert trying to avoid it. She was OK, her car not so much. They've also left large boxes propped against a tree near the end of the driveway. Mind you, the driveway is perfectly flat, the path from the driveway to the door is also perfectly level and there is room to turn the trucks around if they don't wish to back out. I've never gotten a photo of a delivered package- had you contacted them to see where your delivery was before they sent the photo? That's pretty wild.

I hadn't contacted them before they posted the photo. I suspect that they did it to show that it was on the porch since they normally toss it next to the mailbox at the top of the driveway. I don't mind that they do that because we live in a neighborhood where theft is rare but someone else may have complained. It does bother me though that we're coming up on summer and some of these supplements are heat sensitive so if I'm not all over my package delivery notices, they could wind up on this guy's property for days. He's also looking to sell so this needs to get cleared up before someone begins construction on that house.

I could see my mother in law doing what your mother in law's friend in her later years. Glad she was OK.

Best so far. I got my ski pants delivered to the Sears Auto Center at a local mall about 5 miles from my house.

I can't tell from the photo but it's not boxed or anything? Strange. Amazon around here sends so much packaging and boxing its almost funny.

We get the mail for one of our neighbours and always drop it off for them. Their house appears to be in disarray every time we drop it off. I have to wonder how much of my mail is going there that I never see.
      Thanks Everyone!!
