    The Launch

    Aye Mates,
The Launch ~ I captured this image just as the osprey was launching from a branch high in the canopy.

We have a nest in town on a cell phone tower in the industrial park. They're a very big, impressive bird.

Indeed they are. I love watching them dive into water to catch a fish and exit with the fish in its talons. Awesome birds.👍

The nest here is close to the Nashua and Squanacook Rivers, there is a dam that crosses Main Street, you can watch Osprey and Grey Heron driving for fish, they are great fishers. We also have a Bald Eagle Nest not too far off the Rail Trail.

Beautiful! Though there are rivers and lakes around here, they are not common.
