    Chatham-Kent Flight Fest

An event involving airplanes at a local airport happened today so of course I was there, along with Faye.

While it was a mostly static display, rides were available on a visiting C-47. My dad flew C-47s in World War II so I pre-booked a ride. Here are some photos.

Two T-28 trainers in different colour schemes.

    Nose art on one T-28.

    A de Havilland Chipmunk.

All the instruments you really need to fly this simple plane.

    This placard was amusing.

    Pretty little Funk.

This team of Harvards did an unexpected flyby with smoke.

The C-47 taxiing in after a flight with VIPs.

Alas, my flight didn’t happen because a thunderstorm arrived right at taxi time. While I’m disappointed, Faye made some good observations. I have been on this plane before. And the refund can go toward a ride on the Avro Lancaster at the Canadian Warplane Heritage in Hamilton.

But I thought "nose art" was a term used exclusively to describe sliding glass doors/windows decorated by the dogs.
