    Food smells you can't stand.

I'm sitting here as I'm cooking up Nikki's ground turkey and Zo's chowder fish. I'm also roasting a chicken. Had to check the chicken to make sure it hadn't gone bad because the I find the smell of the ground turkey and chowder fish to be absolutely revolting. Also, any time broccoli is even slightly on the verge of spoiling, I want to fumigate the fridge. It's at the point that if we buy broccoli, I have to make it immediately.

What are your food smell sensitivities?

My great Aunt made fabulous egg custard. Visiting one time I got tummy sick and she made egg custard. From that day on I can't stand even the smell.

Most smells don't bother me too much these days. I'm guessing some fermented foods or foods heavy with fish sauce might make me turn away but I just don't buy them. When I was pregnant with my kids I could not stand the smell of coffee and my husband charred some hamburgers he was making one night and I couldn't stand the smell of cooking beef for the rest of the pregnancy. Like PopTop, I had a stomach virus one time as a kid when my mother fixed vegetable beef soup for dinner. I was made to eat a healthy portion despite saying I was sick. Let's just say my parents regretted making me eat all that soup when it made a reappearance later that night. It was many, many years before vegetable beef soup and I became friends again. I guess I'm fortunate my dogs don't need me to cook up anything that the smell of would turn my stomach!

Ketchup. The smell of ketchup is absolutely disgusting. I just want to puke watching someone putting it in food, especially eggs. Disgusting.

Everything people bring into work, throw into a microwave and eat at their desk. Those frozen Michelena's (sp) are the worst.

My daughter is into Sushi and brings home a cabbage dish. It's orange in appearance. The smell is awful.
    Thanks Everyone!!

    Yup.

Pork loin or pork ribs, when you cut open the cryovac wrapper, smells gross.
