I stumbled into being a decision-maker at my workplace. One of the decisions involved instructing the hired landscape crew about what to do.
There is a rough bed next to the employees entrance. I made an executive decision and instructed them to leave alone this bed of so-called weeds. It has some cheery flowers and while I took some photographs, a honeybee happened along. Honeybees and other pollinators have to eat.
A few photos.

I dont know what happened this season, but all my hummingbirds gone and most of my flowering cactus not blooming right...I dont suspect the lack of hummingbirds is my fault...has to be seasonal or migratory....or the fact I have killed every ant I have seen cause I hate ants.

Big difference between wildflowers and weeds....good decision.
A saying I heard long ago: "One man's weeds are another man's wildflowers."
Those are very pretty "weeds"

Yes, wildflowers. I am sad every time the local townships mow the road edges. I understand the corners at intersections but the whole road?

We get a lot of those flowers in the first photo- do you know what those are called? Unfortunately, many of them grow up between the stones on our patio and if they didn't get trimmed down, they'd get trampled by the pooches anyway. The ones not on the patio get to stay. Aside from the daisies, do you know the names of any of the others?

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
