The kids are 8 and 6, the 6 year old loves dogs! He didn't make a big deal of it when he met Emma as a 4 month puppy and got nipped. It would be their first true herding dog, He had lab that past away about 10 year or so ago, and she had a Retriever/BC mix that past way right before the oldest was born. I told them about the herding, and how wicked smart they are, but they believe they can handle it.
I told them that if they really want to go with this breed to find an AMAZING breeder. They totally agree with me since they want a dog that can fit into their family. They're willing to wait till they find the right pup, which is great in my opinion!

They sound like they have done their homework. Sending good thoughts for your friend and hoping the perfect dog makes their family complete.
