    A frequent visitor.

This White-throated Sparrow has been a frequent visitor to the backyard during the past few days. When I first saw it, I thought it was a White-crowned Sparrow. The yellow lore and white throat proved otherwise.

I'm in awe of people who can actually tell these little guys apart. I find it difficult, even with book in hand. Good photo!

Sparrows are hard to ID. We don't have any of these wee things yet.

Yes, sparrows are very hard to ID. Although I have seen this species in years past I had to go to All About Birds to confirm the ID.

I heard that an oriole was spotted one street over. Time to get the nectar feeders out!
