    Netflix Recommendations

I watch a lot of Netflix and thought it would be fun to start a recommendation thread and share with others something good that you have watched lately. Give us a blurb or your take on a movie or show you have watched that you think others might enjoy. There are differences between the US and Canadian Netflix so you might not be able to find something a person recommends. I use a browser plugin called Hola to switch countries, it's free.

Locked Up Abroad - There are several seasons of this documentary about drug smugglers being caught and thrown in prisons mostly in South America and Asia. Most deserved their fate there are shocking stories of those that were duped or tricked into their crime and throw into a horrific prison for years. What I liked is the guilty weren't boo hoo about it they told their story as a warning to others and that is that. The stories of those that were innocent are pretty sad. Either way I have learned that strapping a kilo of cocaine to your body and going through an airport in Peru is not a solid business plan.

    Thanks Everyone!!

I really enjoyed the series Call the Widwife which originally aired on PBS in US.

The Fall (Gillian Anderson) is really good as well. If you like horror movies, Absentia particularly creeped me out but the pace is pretty slow.

Wallander (Kenneth Branagh) is another good series.

Top of the Lake is good but a little weird.

The Short Game is a documentary on children who play competitive golf that I would recommend.

And my husband loved, loved Lillyhammer which was made by one of the guys from The Sopranos (Steven van Zandt). It's about a mob informant who moves to Norway as part of the witness protection program. My husband watched both seasons twice. Hilarious.

love Call The Midwife, i think we are in season(series) 3 now. i can get it on Bbc canada too. anoryer good one, but not too many episodes is The Bletchley Circle, a good british who-dunnit series set in post-war England featuring former code-breaking women, using those skills to solve crimes.

LOVE Call the Midwife. I started watching Suits. It is very witty and fast moving. I'm really enjoying it. I think you can only get it on DVD now that I think about it. I'm watching it on Amazon Prime.

Love Call the Midwife, love Bletchley Circle. But my recommendation is ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK. Funny, sad, all-around amazing. Oh, and if you like Robot-Chicken-type humor, ARCHER is really, really funny.

Archer is AMAZING!!! I count down the months for it's seasons to start but love the netflix reruns. House of Cards is addicting I'm half way through the first season. If you like potty football humor The League is funny.

Based on the recommendation here, DW and I have been watching Lilyhammer. Very funny, Steven van Zandt is hamming it up.

I know it's over, but if you haven't see it Breaking Bad is must-see. My 86 year old MIL walked into the room one night as DW and I started watching, and she got hooked too.
