Never had this, but sending good thoughts!
I'm getting tested tomorrow. I think I'm overreacting but it can't hurt. We were really sick for about three days over the weekend. Both of us had headaches that felt like our eyeballs were being pushed out of our heads. Our eyes, mouths and sinuses were bone dry as well. The only difference between us was that I started seeing flashes of light in the peripheral vision of my left eye. It has gone away but my eye doctor wants to see me to test for a detached retina.
Has anyone ever had this? How was it treated (burned, frozen)? Any other advice on what to expect would be great. I read a bunch on the internet but of course it's all clinical. Thanks in advance.

Hopefully it's just a bit of thickened vitreous fluid that's floating around in there. Are you very short sighted? The lengthened eyeball in myopes puts them more at risk. I'm one and have rushed to my eye doctor three times with flashes but never have had a detachment. You should go as soon as you can if you have flashes or floaters. I was told no heavy lifting for a week and the floater settled down where I don't notice it, the last one. Good thoughts for your appointment.

You know with all the construction and stuff you have done around the house, and both of you being sick with some odd symptoms, I would actually call in an expert to check for gas leak or carbon monoxide leaks. The headaches, nausea dry mouth are all signs of carbon monoxide troubles as well. This could be cause simply by a cat kinking an exhaust hose on the dryer or bumping the venting on the hot water heater. Just a thought, since both of you had this at the same time. Usually when one gets sick another gets sick a few days later as it take time to catch something from someone else.
I think my Father In Law has this. Don't slow him down though.
