Sounds miserable! I hope the nebulizing does the trick for you.

When you don't have an infection, have you ever tried something like a neti pot or similar irrigation thing to rinse out your sinuses? I haven't tried one but people who have seem to find them helpful. I guess you have to be careful to clean them properly and use the right solution or you can cause an infection. But for non-medication treatments, it seems like something to ask about. Neti Pots for Sinus Problems - WebMD: Do They Work?

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Used a neti pot 2x a day, religiously. I'm praying this nebulizer is the answer. We'll see.

I had sinus surgery a year ago due to chronic sinusitis (damn pollens and molds - I was on Avelox for most of the year prior to the surgery). DH also was struggling with what we now think was a fungal sinus infection during that time. We both use neti pots (and sometimes the Neil-Med squeeze bottles) regularly now, and have experimented with several add-ins to improve the effectiveness of the rinses. Some of the things we have tried and why:

Oil of Oregano - 3 drops added to the saline - anti-microbial - burns a bit and makes the world smell like Italian food for a little while - helped some with fighting infection
Grapefruit Seed Extract - 3 or 4 drops added to the saline - DH swears this is what killed the fungal sinusitis - will make nose run a bit afterward
Frankincense Essential Oil - 3-6 drops added to saline - anti-inflammatory - BEST idea ever - opened my sinuses as well as Afrin would have, and very soothing

    Seriously, try frankincense.

I can't offer advice, just sympathy. I'm prone to Sinusitis (not as bad as you though by the sound of it) and it just sucks. Sending good thoughts you find an answer.

As far as natural things for inflammation, I have to say that a small glass of tart cherry juice every night will help. I also take daily vitamins and other supplements (calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B complex, fiber gummies , fish oil, etc).

The only other thing that has helped with pain and inflammation for me has been Celebrex. Doc wanted to try it a couple of months ago for fibro and osteoarthritis. It works! The downside with that med is since it's a strong N-Said, I can take it twice a day for no more than 7 days/month.

I wish you the best and am eager to find out if this new treatment is working for you!
