Oh boy! And don't you ever staple your mouth shut when it comes to this type of thing.
Wanna bet she has to go shopping for new carpet soon.

Thanks for the lesson Kelsyg.
Ignorant is when you know, but choose not to use that knowledge, and stupid is when you did not know in the first place. Clearly Bett has gone out of her way to "educate" this person but she still chooses to do her owns thing.

How frustrating! I hope some of your advice will someday sink in.
It reminds me of the other family that was in Mocha's puppy class with 2 Goldendoodles. They got them from 2 different "breeders" and they looked different. The man points at one and asks the trainer "That one doesn't look right, do you think it's pure goldendoodle?"
Trainer: "There's no such breed. What you have is an expensive mutt."
Man: "What?!"
Trainer: "There's no such breed as a Goldendoodle. Your dog is a mix, not a pure breed"
Man: "Well, it looks different than the other one"
Trainer: "Because there are no standards because it's not a breed. One looks more poodle-ish and the other looks more golden-ish".
He was not happy with her mutt answer, but it's true. Designer breeds are not pure breeds. I guess I just hadn't thought of it that way - 2 breeds in one dog is a mutt. But they sure were cuties!

I admire your restraint!

Just the other day I read one and I guess it fits:
When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead.
It's difficult only for the others.
It is the same thing when you are stupid.

Don't you hate it when people ask your opinion then will not listen to a word you say? Good luck with this situation.

I had to do some mouth stapling myself just recently. My friend's adult daughter bought two miniature daschund puppies from a pet store. When she asked about the name of the breeder, they told her that information was "confidential".

i went in and met the pooch. seems timid but i would be too , given that i lived in a store for 9 months . or 9 months minus probably 6 weeks.
her friend who has a golden doodle was there. we chatted, the dog then after being held went down on the ground and her friend and i said "uh, better get him out". and of course, he peed as soon as he was outside. not leaving the leash on in the house but i noticed the collar on. i'd bet collar on when wally is in the crate but i left after talking about dog food. hopeless. just hopeless. she's worried that he's not eating. he gets all of 1/4 of a cup of something that has brown rice as the second ingredient. i guess it could be worse. could be the first ingredient.
then her friend told me when they are in their house upstate, sometimes her dog won't listen and will chase a deer or a frog. so i said "you know what that means?"
no response. "the dog shouldn't be loose"
response-"9 out of 10 times he listens" .
yeah, it's that 10th time that will get ya every time.
i give up.
i have my own little beast that is hard to train. looks at me like "wtf" and turns his head.
surely, not like a lab.
I can really appreciate the frustration, particularly since you have known her for a long time. Hopefully when things go pear shaped with the pup (and it does sound like they will - it's just what the shape the pear comes in) she listens to your advice. And I hear you on the stapling - I've been in positions in the past with know it all's, and I've decided to keep my top and bottom lip connected, but have really worried that I'd blurt out the dialogue going on in my head and would have to say "far out did I just say that out loud!"
