Well come on ladies, we need a list of doghouse gifts you've received.

I got a Swiss Army knife. But I really liked it. I really wasn't very keen on the new set of pots and pans but I did keep them. I did return the expensive makeup kit.

And it's only fair I mention one that really impressed me, tickets to Phantom of the Opera for my birthday. With him. He didn't even ask me for my credit card to pay for them. Wow, I still can't get over that one.

    OMG, that's funny.

DH has greatly improved over the years. One valentine's day he gave me a heart filled with chocolates. Problem is, I don't like chocolate.

Last birthday he gave me a laptop right before the trip to my parents funeral. I was able to keep in touch with him and DD, and with the lab board. Way to go honey!

The lady that sold me The Ring gave excellent & simple advice that has served me well. Absolutely no gifts that have a plug.

I have pretty much everything I want/need, and have no problem with most "doghouse" gifts.

Things I have received as major gifts from DH, listed with most recent first:
    - dishwasher for my birthday - we both hated our previous one - the new one (Bosch) is silent, does a great job, and has 3 racks
    - vacuum for Valentine's Day - I hated our 20-yr-old vacuum (weighed 40+ lbs with broken self-propel) and petitioned for an Oreck for Christmas (but he didn't believe me)
    - gel floor mats for Christmas
    - an iPad for my birthday (he got himself one at the same time)
    - kitchen knives (*great* ones - Shun premier) for Christmas - the handle shape of the old cheap ones gave me blisters - I knew DH would buy better ones than I would
    - set of stainless steel cookware - a major upgrade that I had wanted for a while

The only real gift fail I can think of was when DH decided to buy me some clothes. He had no idea the kind of minefield that was...
