ok, i cant be in the house 3 days in a row listening to the banging in the basement. left at 10 and got back 245 to find said neighbor wailing in the street.
wally is lost.
she was holding this 8 lb brute, chatting (there lies the problem) with a neighbor and he PULLED away from her and both of them CHASED him.
now i say nothing but go in, walk eli, get a bag of treats and go driving around the neighborhood, talking to every gardner, mailman, few ex man and anyone in the street. nope, they saw a white dog.
one hour and i go home, after seeing her in the street and saying "did you call the police?"
"no, what are the police gonna do?"
um, maybe someone found him and called as he had your number on the collar and a leash trailing behind him.
ok, she goes and does that.
I'm just about ready to go back out and search, thinking about the street at the end of my block that is heavily trafficked with camp buses, and the other end, a canal.
a knock on my door. yes, a neighbor on the canal street has him. so i say "how were you holding the leash? he's 8 lbs, how can he pull away?"
she swears, that it was wrapped around her hand. so i say "tell your husband the BS , you were holding the loop and nothing more. you need to wrap it around your hand. and, the next time the dog runs away, DO NOT CHASE HIM AS HE THINKS IT'S A GAME,RUN THE OTHER WAY, CALLING HIS NAME"
boy, did they get lucky. i figured i'd find him squashed or wrapped around someone 's bush in their yard, crying.
i told her, wrap the leash please and tell your husband to do the same.
nope, she won't tell him because she knows he's gonna wanna strangle her.
not to be believed.

I would want to throttle that neighbor of yours.
She makes for some good storytelling though. If you had a blog, about anything, I would read it.

Well that didn't take long to almost loose him. Glad he's safe (for now).

What a dimwit. When will she ever learn!

Does she drive a car? I hope you stay off the street when she's driving if she does. Worse, does she have children? Oh, I hope not.
You are such a sweetheart for helping her look. It drives me crazy when people ask my advice, ignore me, the thing happens and then they want me to help solve it. I'm so glad the brute is OK.
How did you keep from wrapping a leash around her neck?! I would have been tempted!
