I spent 22+ years in the USAF as an Air Traffic Controller, which I really enjoyed, and was really good at it. When I retired, I was to "old" to go to work for the FAA, plus I had some medical issues that would have caused issues with medical clearance. I spent 10 years in the motorcycle business, sales, finance, management, 5 of those year witht he largest seller of new Harleys in the world at the time. I really liked the job, but dealing with the owner got old, so I took a position as a sales manager at a Toyota dealer. Made a lot of money, but I hated the car business, and only lasted a year. Went back to the motorcycle business as a service manager (way less hours that sales) and it was ok, got layed off in 2009 when the economy tanked. Was unemployed for 6 months and discovered I could survive without working. Took a job as a service writer at a Nissan dealer. Most miserable job I ever had. I'd rather be the guy who drives around sucking out porta potties all day than ever do that again. Quite after 5 months.

I took a job as a chef in a family owned local restaurant about 4 years ago. I only work about 30 hours a week, and I enjoy doing it. Dealing with the family, and the other employees can be a real challenge at times. I call it my retirement job.

Nope, not even a little bit. Nice paycheck, but beyond that very few redeeming qualities. I'm an attorney.

Oh no! I'm hoping to become one in the next year.

I've worked as a legal assistant and clerked at a few law firms the past 3 years. I enjoy working with clients, I don't like the sitting behind a desk pushing paper aspect of the positions I've held.

Well, considering I work at a dog kennel I love my job! I sometimes have the chance to help train dogs and I get to play with puppies! It's an amazing job.

DH and I love our jobs. I'm an elementary/special education teacher focused mainly in autism and DH fixes million dollar microscopes. Totally different, but both very "us"! My pay is quite atrocious, though :-(

Many attorneys like their jobs, so don't let my comment rain on your parade!

Well, I like my field, my job....not so much. I am doing the work of a full time salaried employee, but I am paid a low hourly salary with terrible benefits. I apply to new jobs every day. Cant wait until I can be a Chemist and be paid fairly for the work I do.

They seem to be few and far in between! Lol

In one of my first year classes, a few days were spent discussing high rates of career dissatisfaction and high substance abuse rates among attorneys.
