no talking. I'm blue in the face. animal cruelty won't do anything as they will take the little thing to the vet, or at least let him be seen. they shouldn't have a pet, a plant, or a fish.
what's to say. and i really don't like their choice of trainer.
tells them "get pumpkin". do you think idiots like that know why, how much or not the thanksgiving pumpkin? no clue.
feed raw. now how to , add calcium if no bones, how much. no clue.

hey the last dog they never crated, he peed for 14 yrs, 4 carpet replacements, black ruined stain on oak floors because they didnt notice (i smelled a combination of urine and fabreeze for 13 yrs) and fed him chinese food.
when i asked them why, the response was "he likes it". onions and all.
and the god damn dog lived 14 yrs. bichon.nasty , bitey. she told me "he was afraid of me".

there is no dog that is afraid of me.

At least my neighbor with the little nasty, peeing, biting dog didn't say I triggered his behavior, she admitted he was "kind of an a$$hole". It sounds like they're trying to do the right thing by this pup, but their attempts are so...lame. Sadly, you're there to witness it. Of course, I know you also witnessed children whose parent(s) were no better suited to procreate than these folks are to raise a dog, and with the dog you have little power to force any course of action. Don't bite your tongue off!

Unfortunately there seems to be an area between good responsible dog ownership and legal animal cruelty. This poor dog falls in that gray area. It's so sad. We have a couple of horses nearby that also fall into this gray area.

They won't take care of it and they let it destroy their house. Why do they even want a dog (or the horses)? I know there's no answer, just throwing the question out to the cosmos.

I can not even begin to imagine how maddening it must be to watch and hear the stupidity. The only thing I can think of to cope, short of stealing the puppy, is extra Xanax, for you.

    OMG!

I guess this poor wee thing wasn't from a rescue that asks people to allow a home visit? And you could put a bug in their ear? Or, wait, was he from a rescue? The rescue would have neutered him. I forget where he is from.

naw, not from a rescue, a PET STORE that somehow still sells dogs.... and he'd been there awhile.. AFTER Bett had given them great guidance and advice, they still went and bought from the store...

hmm, what about that suggestion of the raw packaged frozen at the pet store? might be better than them totally screwing up the nutrition intake with their goofy raw attempts.

so sorry you have to see this all....so frustrating, and so very sad for the little dog.

There is a coupon link for the raw Instinct, all the work done. They can even get it in the kibble sized form, for easier thawing and feeding. It is high pressure pasteurized, so even my vet uses it.

It won't fix everything else, but at least the poor pup can eat.

if they won't use the prepared raw, I'd rather see him eating grocery store dog food than a messed up homemade diet!
Most of the pet stores seem to have so called trainers for hire; I wonder if that where the shocking one is from. I hope his terrier toughness, way down in the Yorkie part, helps him withstand the "training.' Most of the older pet store refugees I have known need socialization, slowly, as they never even saw the sky or touched grass before. I have had them freak out because the ceiling was gone, the floor was wet, and cars were going by. It takes a while just to acclimate them to our "planet."
