nick decided last night, while i was out, to empty the pod himself, putting everything now in the garage, (don't ask, that it was after a thallium stress test and all day at the doc's)
neighbor came by and again, mentioned that they used glue (for the third closure) and nick grunted "welcome to the world" and went inside. he just cant.
You've got lots going on in your life, that's for sure. Have you thought about writing a book? Your neighbour seems to be doing a great job demonstrating, "The Dummies' Guide on How Not to Raise a Dog."

Maybe they will listen a little to your advice now. I wonder if my previous neighbors who fed the groundhogs (cause they looked hungry) and left food out for coyotes, bears (because they were also probably hungry) are related to your neighbors? I had to go inside when my neighbor came out to walk her dog- in a specially made, custom stroller so the dog could sit on a seat while she pushed it down the sidewalk. She didn't think walking on the sidewalk was good for her dog's feet.

I GOT YELLED AT TODAYshe called, i asked how the pup's incision is. silly, why would they look. so i said "don't take that cone off". she screamed that i was talking to her like she was a child. umm, ok. then i asked if she read any of the links i provided re raw feeding, how much calcium, etc.no. and then told me she went out and bought more chicken. did you check the sodium? no. and anyway, she said , the dog gets a vitamin but she cant get him to eat it. i suggested pulverizing it, and mixing it into peanut butter. oh ,ok.then i made the mistake of what vitamin and why. she doesn't know, the pet store sold it to her and the trainer said it was ok. what's in it? doesn't know.then i asked if she's training without putting on the vibration/shock collar because she said "he's doing very well". i said "well, with the collar or well, without the collar?"no, silly, with the collar. umm, hello? anyone home in there?i tried to explain, without sounding like i wanted to bash her in the mouth, that with the collar on, the dog is responding to the stimulus, rather than the command. i suggested while the cone is on, to try like a regular person, with treats, to train. then we got into a think about her trainer, who i said with all the training and dogs and trainers, i never heard of using that for an 8 lb pup, as an initial training tool. i explained that i would have used that to break a particular behavior, like barking constantly, rather than how to walk on a leash. well, SHE'S LISTENING TO THAT TRAINER AND NO ONE ELSE.AND STOP TALKING TO ME LIKE I'M A CHILD.ok, no more. i cant. it makes me sick.

Your advice is free. In her mind, the advice she is paying for is worth what she pays for it. Now, if that were a good trainer, that would be okay.
Sigh. Maybe she'll move?
Stupid is as stupid does . . . You ain't gonna change that.

Leave her to rot with her dog. At least it is not a large breed dog that could do some serious damage if it was out of control -- like this dog is destined to be. I do not know how you stand it.

Wait, she called you, asked your advice and then yelled at for it? What a nit wit! I feel so sorry for this little dog.
Perhaps like attracts like. Stupid owner, stupid trainer.
