I'm told you can write REFUSED on the unopened envelope, drop it back in the mail and the sender has to pay the postage.

The only part I know for sure is true is that my mail lady does pick up such marked envelopes.

Dear Every College and University in the US,

Thank you for sending my daughter, a high school senior, the most beautiful and abundant mailers again and again. Not only are we set with kindling for our wood stove this year, and single-handedly are keeping our recycling facility in business, but we now understand why tuition, room and board at your schools are $62,000 a year. Paper, printing and postage is expensive. I know. I am a magazine publisher. We can't wait until the post office raises their rates so you can raise yours.

If I knew her new number, trust me, I would be delighted to share it with them.
I wonder if Erin (the deadbeat person who had my number before me) and Deborah S are the same person?

Dear Lana (Yes, that is her name),

Thank you for incurring huge amounts of debt so that you could cancel your phone service and we, unwittingly, got your used number. This comes in handy so much when trying to get work done (it is our work phone number).

Also thank you for NOT telling ANY of your friends or acquaintances that you have a new phone number and if they wish to drop by and see you they cannot call MY number and ask me to open the gate to your community for them. I'm not a magician.

    Dear Paid Professional Fund Raiser,

All you are doing is calling for us to pay your salary. Which I won't do. I keep my donations local to charitable groups that DO NOT use such horrible tactics.

    Dear Yellow Page "Collection" Agent,

This is a scam. I can't believe you really think I'd fall for that. We've never advertised. We never will. Why would a small Mom & Pop business even consider advertising in the internet yellow pages? So someone across the country will call us to have a window replaced? I think not.

And for all the unwanted junk mail everyone gets--if you have a smart phone, download and use Paper Karma. You get an unwanted piece of mail, you simply photograph it in the app and they arrange to get you off the mailing list. It really works!!

    These are great!!!

Dear “Guy” (whose first name starts with the same initial and has my last name),

I really appreciate the 2 years of weekly calls from Bank of America while they were demanding overdue payments from you. They had the most difficult time understanding why I wasn’t you – we aren’t the same gender and our names are pretty gender specific!!! They finally stopped calling after I threatened for the umpteenth time to call the government agency that handled nuisance calls (and finally told them the number that I’d be calling). I also explained to Bank of America that if they’d had better investigative procedures before giving out credit (and screwing up the economy), they might have realized that your irresponsible thieving self didn’t live at my address or have my phone number. Your other creditors who've called also know about your fraudulent past. By the way, “Guy”, I was really disappointed to receive a lovely bouquet and discover upon opening the card (addressed to my first initial/last name) that it was a sympathy arrangement for one of your family members. The crew team that you rowed with was very caring about you – sadly they don’t really know you. Had to get ahold of the florist to retrieve the arrangement. Also had to regretfully, but honestly, decline the delectable-looking Edible Arrangement that arrived a couple of hours later. You seem to still exist locally and when I run into you, watch out!!!

    Dear Company:

I bought my house in 1996. Your investor moved out of my house 2 years before I purchased it. The house was vacant for one year. Every other month you send updates on his portfolio. I have rejected the mail. I have returned the mail writing "MOVED". I have actually called you to ask you to stop sending the mail. I have written IN BIG BOLD AND COLORFUL LETTERS on the envelope for you to correct your records with the date that this individual was last living in the house, I have done everything possible but because you are so incompetent in your record keeping, it makes me doubt your company’s ability to run itself. Therefore, I will never invest in you or your subsidiaries. I have looked you up and you are NOT doing well. Start with your paperwork…stop sending stuff to lost individuals and wasting postage – perhaps you will start improving your bottom line.

Dear Internet advertising companies on this website,

I am and will never be interested in clicking the link to find out how to achieve a flat stomach!! And I am sick of looking at the picture attached to this ad of an egg. it's stupid and irritating to read this ad every time I am on this forum and yes, I may not have a flat stomach but that doesn't mean I am going to click on your stupid link. I am perfectly happy with my stomach and know that it is evolutionally designed not to be flat.

Also to the internet dating ads saying there are lots of women in China and Thailand wanting to "connect" with me is also irritating and not actually relevant to a lab forum. Also they are the wrong gender so even if I was looking to "connect" with someone these ads do not fit the criteria. Oh, and the photos of these women just remind me of the ever-increasing desperate situation people around the world are in and the abhorrent presence of people trafficking....so no, I will not be clicking on your link to "chat" with someone that wants to "chat" with me.

    Thank you
