I seldom see her but finally caught her out the other day. Asked if she minded if I came over and helped with weeding the gardens. It's really not all that much. Last time the lawn service did her hosta garden with tons of weeds in it, they just mowed the entire thing down. DH is going to saw down some volunteer woody bushes that are causing her a problem. It's going to be busy but I love digging in the dirt.
    She'll really appreciate your help.

It's funny how some of us love yard work/gardening and others just don't care for it at all. I think I finally have my neighbor convinced that I'm really enjoying what I'm doing. I'm slow and steady but it's really satisfying.

Never been afraid of hard work or digging in the dirt, just dislike SNAKES and my yard seems to be over run by them. I love hydrangeas, I'll have to check at our local Wally World for some. Poptart, what a lovely gesture, helping an elderly neighbor, I understand how she feels, Grandkids in this day and age don't seem as helpful as children were in the past.

DH is taking off next week so one of those days will be dedicated to getting her yard straightened out. There are 4+ volunteer woody shrubs that need to be chain sawed down; I don't do chain saw. Think I'll completely dig up her hosta garden and reset the plants. It's the only good way to get all the weeds out. There are some hedges to trim. Should be doable in a day.

Our city has gone to a pay by the bag for yard waste - $2.50 a bag. The alternative is to pay $250 for the year with a 10 bags per week limit. Knowing we were going to be doing to much in our yard, we paid the yearly price. The neighbor did not so we will haul a lot of her stuff to our yard for pickup.

I don't chainsaw either. I own one but . . . This would be me:

It's great that you can put her debris in with yours.

YIKES! Don't think I would have asked, would have dialed first.

Forgot, we do have a chipper. Going to need a lot of mulch with the new gardens. Hum, Honey . . . . . .

Next week DH also starts his next class. High pressure boilers this time. It's all greek to me.

Almost finished painting the shed. The back side is hard to do, only about 3' from the fence. Painted until I ran out of paint; need another quart. The temp had dropped, nice breeze, Archie keeping a watch out, it was just nice being out. A few trim board are going to be replaced so I have been prepainting them; a lot easier then when they are already up. Was thinking, this is the first repaint we've had to do. Put up the shed about 8-9 years ago. Don't know what I'd do without it. It's a good size, about 10x12 so we can store a ton of garden stuff and have room to store outdoor chairs and stuff during the winter.
