    ok, garage is nearly empty.
floor guy is making believe he's coming tomorrow to assess what needs to be done. i don't think it's going to be such a big deal but my fridge is still in the little room off the den, as the laundry room is scratched up and that's where he will need to work , as well as a few other spots. hoping it buffs out and we call it a day.

the closet has a piece of furniture that i took out of my guest room , just till the floor is done and then it will go under the big t-v . a hole already drilled to keep the cable box with an electric eye, so we'll be good to go. of course, all the stuff that was in there is now on the guest room bed and i was in a frenzy looking for the remote but managed to find it under my bathing suits. haven't figured out where and when i will get that away because the piece of furniture that was in the dining room, that held my mother's china, and serving platters is now tucked away, in a closet that will be my pantry. i cant lie, i am very excited to have that pantry. a rack is in there already but nothing else done.

nick had already washed the crawl space and put stuff in plastic bins, in there yesterday, but there's more room and more stuff that he can put in there.
there are many racks in there with boxes, labeled thank god, with all the stuff that will eventually either stay there , or two of the racks will be near the steps, holding toys and games for the tots. the laundry room rack or racks, in there as well so not to clutter up the laundry room. my recumbent bike is in there for now too. the only thing still under tarps is nick's exercise equipment (some kind of gym thing) because there was just no room to move if we crammed it in so outside , in the dog run under tarps, it remains.

i gave away 4 chairs, and a lamp. didnt need it, they were in good condition and the workers grabbed them. good.
there's still a huge glass and metal desk in the garage, that i am going to attempt to see if i can make it work in jack's room, instead of the skinny computer table i use now. might not work but I'm sure gonna try. this way, it can hold two printers (don't ask, nick likes to print his own photos) , as well as all the desk items that are now in a closet.if it works, good. if not, have no idea where it will go, but we did have it in a corner of the basement before -maybe nick can make a train table out of it and pretend it's not too big. i like it, so it would bother me to not use it.

so, I'm exhausted from directing where everything should go and now making dinner for nick who is going to collapse when he sees what is done, and what needs to be done still. sunday we will be busy.

I'm getting nervous about his surgery as the social worker called today and discussed what it entails. somehow i managed to not go on the internet but she told me to read up. seems like no weight on that leg for about 12 weeks. i won't be surprised if his boss doesn't hold his job but right now, i just need the surgery to go smoothly and him be a good boy. he is not the type to lay around but he is gonna have to, at least for a couple of weeks till a cast goes on. then, he better still be good on crutches .

ok, one day at a time.
nick is now the priority, and the basement is nearly done. i even bought a couch yesterday, for the den, and the den couch will go downstairs. soon, i hope.

ok guys , wanted to give a good update .
enjoy the holiday weekend and stay safe.

That's a great update! You really have done a lot of work and need to congratulate yourselves.

Sending prayers that all goes well for Nick - both during and after his surgery and that he does keep his job.

Enjoy your weekend - you've done the "Labour" part of the "Labour Day weekend!!

this morning , early, after cleaning vangie's puke (don't know why for a change) i went up and down, probably 12 times, carrying mom's china (left 3 cups in by accident and they broke, oh well), platters and all my cookbooks. thought i would sweat off a lb by the time i was done. dining room back to normal.
little by little. now i am perseverating on nick's surgery. social worker called and had me look online "ankle fusion, bone graft, and achilles stretching". oy vey. i don't know how a man who cant sit still for a minute will be off his leg for 4 months.

Good update! It's great that things are falling into place.

Nick's just going to have to suck it up and be a good boy. That's serious surgery that needs serious healing time or he'll mess it all up. Then, repairing that will be even worse. Get him a bunch of puzzles and paint by number kits, chain him to the recliner, feed him occasionally and monitor his bathroom breaks.

Sending prayers that his surgery will be completely successful, he will be good, and his recovery as quick as it can be.

I agree with Fran! Would a wheelchair or scooter help Nick get around while keeping the weight off his ankle? Or just put wheels on his recliner!

    Good luck!

split level house. steps everywhere so no scooter or wheelchair. he seems to think he can handle crutches so…we'll see.
I'm trying not to be in freak out zone.

and oh yeah, floor guy stood me up, didnt respond to my text or call or contractors. i basically told the contractor to call his boss and rat him out. i just need someone to fix the scratches and at this point don't care who does it.
