Crafther and I had a busy day. We canned 12 pints of salsa, 12 quarts of soup starter and 6 pints of corn salsa.
While cleaning and breaking the green beans we discovered Mocha LOVES green beans. He has standards though, the beans must be strung.

Soup starter...what's in the jar and what gets added when you are going to eat the soup?
I don't can, and I'm not sure I'm going to get all the equipment I'd need to do it, but having all that on hand would be lovely.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

It is very simple to make. Tomatoes, green beans, carrots, celery, bell peppers& corn kernels. Basically cook it all in a big pot, ladle into sterilized jars & seal. Some say you have to pressure can but we've had great success with this method. We just make sure the temp gets to 160 degrees.
Once made you can add beef stew meat, chicken, ground beef, about anything you can think up.

That's one busy day. All that is going to taste so good in the cold weather.
Mardi loves green beans is not picky at all. Grew pole beans this year and her evening outside treat is a couple of fresh beans off the stalk.
