    Paralyzed by contractors.

I just can't get anything done when contractors are here. The plumber is in the bathroom which is beside my office and across from the basement door. I have to pass him even to get to the kitchen. The painter is in the living room window at the moment but for some reason he also has a ladder propped against the bedroom window on the other side of the house so he could appear there at any moment as well. The plumber has gone out to his truck approximately fifty times in the last hour. And for the first two hours, the dogs barked at everyone every time they were visible or made a noise.

So I'm sitting here waiting for 4:00 which is when the painter always leaves and I hope the plumber will be finished and I can accomplish nothing, nothing, in the meantime. Not even pee.

On the upside, this is a window he hasn't done yet and a window he has. Looks good!

Ah. Peace. They have gone. And my toilet and sink work again. Took him forever to snake out the crud in the galvanized pipe but he didn't have to replace some of the things he thought he would so it was about half the estimate. Very happy.

Renovation, IMO, is harder than initial construction. You are so making me look forward to window replacement in a couple of weeks, NOT!

There's something so unnerving about having gaping holes in your house. Drives me nuts.

I hear ya! The finished window looks really good so that should make it worthwhile.

Bright side is that it's only a temporary situation, hang in there.
