Thanks for the update, hopefully the first couple of days are the worst and then you will find a routine that gives you both some sanity time and independence.

Ok but the way you write of all of this is cracking me up. None of it of course is funny but ah do you have a way with words.

Glad Nick is home. I hope your sanity survives. By the way Charlie didn't poop on his walk and if he poops later Niner eats it. Bleck

seriously I hope Nicks recovery goes smoothly for him and you.

not a bad night if a 4 am wakeup is normal. i even woke eli up to go out.

my niece tracy and her husband will come over at about 5 just to visit and keep us company.
the basement is done, and now i am so compulsive and crazy , everything stored in the back room is making me nuts. or more nuts.

i had a thing with cablevision because i noticed instead of 6 lights , some blinking i had two . so the fool who do the "live chat" with me told me "it's fine". . i told him to remember he said that when it all of a sudden isn't fine.

so, of course, my phone for the first time ever, is with them too, and yup, you guessed it. phone died, then computer . they tried to tell me that it was my strip, so i changed the strip, tested each receptacle , and of course, they all work.

they didnt consider it an emergency, that my husband the invalid is bed bound, and i fear blood clots of course, so i will follow up after the repairman comes today.

off to shop, make a bigger breakfast with some protein, and will be back later.
this is no walk in the park.

Day 2, you've made it this far....
hey, at least he's trying to be independant... that should help somewhat?
the basement will wait... or you can use it when you need to take some frustration out? or escape for a bit?
hang in there. Hopefully he ate the delicious breakfast you made him rather than sneaking more chocolate bars.

a better day. less pills. i assume, less pain.
my niece tracy, and her husband frank, came over and i ordered in italian food, set up the bridge table in my bedroom (that was a fight because old nicky wanted to come downstairs.) and we ate , and hung like normal people.
    nice .

Great update. Nothing like family over to keep Nick's mind off his ankle.

Maybe you need to put up a baby gate so he can't leave the room.

yesterday was a very good day, but this morning at 430 i hear the moaning. ok, you want the oxy? yes. ok, up now. and didnt get to bed till i went nuts and told him to shut off the god damn tv because i cant sleep with the 55" monster on. that was 1:30. i cant go back to sleep and 20 minutes later i hear the grunting again. ok, time for the neurontin for as he says "fire ants" . now I'm really up, and figure i'll just lay there, till the dogs give me the signal. i wait until it's light, get myself together , release eli with proceeds to smash and bash and race around like a loon that was crated since 11 last night. get them out, feed them, the walk eli, then the labs. now, tho it is a beautiful, cool fall-like day, i am in a sweat. brought him cheerios so he can take the other medicine (coated aspirin) and now proceed to make toast and a cheese omelet. go back downstairs, clean up the kitchen, clean up the dog run, and up to get the plate saying jokingly "are you sick of omelets yet?" and he says YES. oh really? well, sorry i didnt have a chance to make you pancakes but……ok, catch myself, keep my yap shut and go down to the little room off the den, which has become a storage pit for the basement, empty it, sort some stuff, vacuum, find the fixture i was told was in the garage, and put some stuff back, leave some stuff out to go downstairs, and upstairs, and go back upstairs.
wow, it's only 9 and i got so much done.
i feel like i can collapse so I'm gonna get ready and take shower number 2, windows open because i smell "sick" and cant take it.
will probably check back later and i now see he seems comfy.
    thank god.

whew. sorry about the extra-early morning....
while hes comfy can you sit outside with the dogs for some fresh air? know what you mean about the smelling sick, ugh. or better yet, perhaps a power nap in the den?
hoping you've got some more visitors lined up for him today.
and that he starts to feel better day by day. thats got to be painful.
