      nick is home!

so i speak to cranky pants in the morning and he tells me what a horrible night he had. so much pain and burning that they had to call the for and get dilauden (spelling?). so i figure no way is he coming home today and honestly, 9/11 in ny freaks me out so ok, good.

I'm watching the news-why? and wailing my eyes out and lover boy calls, all happy, "guess what hon? you can come and get me"
ok, shoot me in the head. so now i have to arrange for the limo, get my friend patty here because i am already fragile from the 9/11 stuff, had a mini panic attack yesterday with tracy in the elevator of the hospital because it was too crowded and everyone was staring at tracy's still bald head. got it together when we got out of the elevator but not happy.

ok, car coming at 11, nurses working on discharge and getting scripts for him. we flew in, nice guy, drove a harley (ugh, i told him about nick's accident) and drives antique hitter cars. perfect.

we go upstairs, i grab his nurse, she gives me a packet of info i call the driver and tell him which entrance to meet us at, and we race (well, we raced, nick used crutches) out of there.
drop off scripts at cvs, and hospital calls to tell me he left his phone charger. ok, old phone and i had a barely used iPhone 4 that i dropped, smashed the screen and gave to my friend cristina's husband to use, after he dropped it in the toilet, and he fixed the screen, used it for two weeks and gave it back. i attempted to hook it up because the verizon store said it would take 3 hrs. no thanks, went home did it and realized i made it a clone of my phone. oh nooooo. waiting for cristina to finish with patients but my OCD kicks in, i google and wiped out the phone and no matter how many times it says "hello" i am not doing it. cristina knows how and i don't. yet.

he's in pain, I'm the nurse and have my OCD issues and lists of when he can and cant have his drugs. he was in pain, and i said, "take these, and in 20 minutes i will check on you".

meanwhile i emptied the god damn rain barrel that i hate like poison and feel like heidi running with big heavy tubs of water , fed and walked the dogs, and of course eli didnt poop. grrr. made some spaghetti sauce with chopped up pancetta, flank steak and onions and now heating up meatballs and pasta.

i feel like i can drop dead. also did wash, cleaned the den , and picked up poop.

      this is not fun.

oh yeah, gotta go to dr next week and if no one goes with me, i will find out how much that cost and do it again. i cant drop him off (not stable enough) and find a lot, and get him, and then do it in reverse.
i'm so tired i think i can drop dead. but i cant.
ok, thanks for all the support and listening to me babble .

      Oh my, what a day!

It's going to take Nick some time to get on a regular schedule and you will be running back and forth to him until he does. I send you prayers for patience.

So sorry about what you and Tracy went through. You're an angel for sticking by her with all you have on your plate. I send you prayers of endurance.

Eli, you better be a good boy and go poop and pee outside for Mommy. I send Eli good-a-good puppy prayers.

Do you have a hole/spigot on the bottom of the rain barrel? Hook up a hose and let it drain out instead of hauling buckets around. I send you prayers that it does.

Get another limo for the doctor appointment then you won't have to worry about parking and all that hassle.

Sending Nick healing prayers and prayers that the pain can be well managed.

Sending you prayers that you endure all this. Wish I could be there for you.

fran you an angel. and the spigot doesn't work without a pump and i so hate this rain barrel from hayneedle that i even complained and told them it was like false advertising, the picture shows it on the ground with a hose next to it . well, it has to be raised (we have it on a milk crate) or you only can open he spigot and have the water run out .not exactly my point of having it .
just call me heidi and next yr we will get a pump and this one, since i don't think i can lift it myself , will freeze and crack and it will be my greatest joy (well, not my greatest) to hack it up- and toss it in the trash.

so far, he got cranky with me once, because i asked him to get out of bed and go sit in the chair i provided with a stool for his leg. NOOOOOOOOO> then he wanted me to put the chair next to his side of the bed , which meant it would be half on the dog bed and lopsided. umm, NOOOOOO> so so far , he hasnt gotten up but he will.
i made him dinner, he hardly ate, but if he doesn't the medicine will nauseate him tho i did see a million dove bar wrappers. lol.
i do think i will be able to leave him an hour at a time, to shop because he won't screw this up.

meanwhile, all 3 dogs are next to him, snoring away. (while i run up and down four thousand times)
think i will lose a pound? probably not. love being hypothyroid.

well, he has that pee thing that i made him take from the hospital. for anything else, he will make his way with the crutches to the bathroom.
i have my limits. but the funny thing is , i keep washing the pee thing (what is that called?) with dawn so when he does go, we have lots of bubbles.

he's sleeping now, but looks like he's so uncomfortable. he's cold, i'm hot and now have to get the dogs out in the back and try and sleep. i have to check his pills because i think he gets a neurontin and that does help. in 20 minutes.

this is harder for him than me. nick is "the man" in his head and does for everyone. if it snows, my neighbors are screwed as he snowplows the entire block , doing the old ladies right after us. they LOVE him, and should. he's a good man and came from such crap , it amazes me. my kids adore him, and should and my ex husband loves him too. nick is just an all around good guy and very hard worker.

this will be some test, on many levels. my younger son just called and told me "get out of the house, and away from him, every day or you will lose your mind or kill". sweet boy, knows his ma.

thanks guys, and i hope you don't get bored with the updates. as there will be many. i'll try and make some of them jolly.

I got mad (btw) at a nurse who took me out to the car to be released. I had told her that we found that it was better if she wheels me close (it was my 3rd operation) and let me get in. Instead she grabbed my foot and yanked my leg up sending excruciating up my leg. I don't blame Nick for geeing difficult that is PAINFULL. !!!!
