What a look! She's very beautiful though.
Since both my parents were going to be gone this weekend, I asked my landlord if keeping Deezel for the night would be okay and she was fine with it. My two cats, however.... this was Khaleesi until I put her in our bedroom. Kaylee hid under the bed before I even got him in the house.
She looks like a Halloween cat! My sweet, fearless and dog-like cat was hissing and growling! Even though it's only for the night, I will have my own dog in the future so want her to get used to them, any tips?

more visits from.Deezel,.with him being controlled and not hassling the kitties. also, kitties often are very wary of a new dog, even when comfortable with a different dog.
she is a.pretty kitty,.even upset like that.
Patience. Gracie HATED Luna for 6 months and refused to be in the same room as her. A separated baby-gated off room for cats only seemed to really help her, and Feliway plug-in diffusers. Now they'll hang out in the same room together, but not snuggle or anything.

Thanks guys! Luckily for them, Deezel is a weirdo dog with many quirks about floors and wouldn't leave the living room, so it's almost as if we had a baby gate lol. At one point when he was sleeping, they both came out to get near him (very surprised Kaylee left the room), but in total defense mode.
He seems to understand that she can do some serious damage because he whines we he sees her and won't go near her, so I guess that's good haha
It sounds like Deezel understands that cats = pointy feet....
When I got first got Shadow, we slept in the guest room with the baby gate up at the door. The 2 cats kept the master bedroom and the rest of the house. My reasoning was that they were there first and this way they could keep to their nocturnal patrolling and then safely peek in at the intruding dog.
During the daytime, when I was home, I kept a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs so the cats could have the upstairs as a safety zone. When I was away, Shadow was crated for the first few months. Because the litter box is in the basement, I installed a chain on the door so that one side of the chain was on the frame and the other was on the inside of the door - this prevents the door from closing when hooked up and allows enough space so the cats can slip through and take care of business.
I also played with the cats on one side of the baby gate, with Shadow on the other. Using a string toy to keep the cats entertained and distracted, I would bring it closer to Shadow who kept receiving treats for maintaining calmness. It seemed to work well and soon they sniffed each other through the gate.
Roo was quickest to accept Shadow. Cinder was less but turns out the months that he spent under the bed wasn't from fear but bladder stones -- I wish he could have spoken and told me he was in pain but he acted normal, cuddly and playful when he came out from underneath. But as soon as Cinder was healthy, Cinder had no problem winding himself around Shadow's legs, getting groomed by Shadow, swatting his nose when he gets too rough, or curling up next to him for a nap.
