went to audi early this morning as my rear view mirror, for no reason, seemed to be dangling from some electric wires. nick insisted on going, and holding and taping the mirror for the 30 minute drive. had to be there early so i was up and walking dogs in the dark. not what i love, by the way.

had to leave it, needs a new windshield (apparently all those wires are hooked in and blah blah blah). my guy gave me a newish white a4, automatic for a loaner. not really used to automatic but nice car.

came home, made nick an omelet who got pissy when i asked if he can butter the toast over the plate instead of his lap and then he punished me and didnt eat the toast. oh well.
went food shopping, came home , unpacked, straightened up and meeting a friend for lunch WITH nick at 1.

hope he eats enough that he isn't hungry later. lol.
might have to go back and get the car today. yuck.

all in all, not bad so far.

sadly, he doesn't drink coffee. but it will be a cold day in hell, before i make toast again, without him asking for it.

went out for lunch and he said he's getting fat (33" waist, pig) and doesn't want dinner. ok, then, fine.

Nick, you better watch out, you're treading on thin ice!

One thing always leads to another on a car. Aggravates the heck out of me.

How about getting Nick a pile of puzzles and a card table and duct tape him to the chair. He's only allowed up for potty privileges.

nick decided he just had to go in the basement and bring up a zillion old photos. NO NO NO. why bring them up?
so, i went thru the pile, organized, threw out, and told him to find a bin to put all the photos in. i sure wish the kids would take theirs but they won't.
might cory take the giant sneaker that darryl dawkins gave him and autographed it?
do i need his college diploma?

why why why. his house in much bigger than mine but i have his crap . we actually burnt, yes burnt, in a fire pit, years and years of tax returns, old bills, checks, …….why me?

and yeah, nick doesn't do puzzles but the duct tape sounds enticing. I'm out tomorrow, and last week when i went out, he pulled out all the zillion sweaters. i told him to bring down a box on the racks and let me see what is in it but nope, that's not his plan.
i want those racks emptied so i can organize the stuff. all pots and pans (extras) on one rack, dishes i don't use on another rack, potting shed stuff on another, and paper goods on others. cant i ever be done??????

doesn't seem like he's hungry (hooray) but i already sautéed chicken and broccoli in garlic and oil so i just have to boil up some pasta. and i cooked sweet and hot sausage, made sauce and decided to freeze that, as how much pasta can i make in one week?

DID I SAY I AM NEVER COOKING AGAIN AFTER ALL THIS IS OVER?

Then put it up..... Never mind. If he doesn't want to eat, I'm on my way, fire up the pasta. I'd put a lock on the basement door.

Not a puzzle but here is a project for Nick that will keep him still but allow him a sense of accomplishment. If you have a printer that scans photos well, put him on the job of reducing that photo pile! I stole 2 raggedy old photo albums from my parents. They contained 20 years of family vacations. I scanned 700 photos. Labeled them by vacation and put them into folders on the computer. This took LOTS OF TIME and kept me OCCUPIED coming up with titles.

Then, I went onto Mixbook (you might want to check out other programs). I then took nearly all 700 of those photos and created a hardbound photo book. I made a copy each member of my family. Yes -- the book was about 1" wide compared to the 8" occupied by the old albums, the photos are captioned -- I collected memories from my brothers, scanned a couple of Smokey Mt hiking maps, etc. I don't recall if I did all of the cropping prior to getting into the Mixbook program but their page formats and tools for coloring, brightening, etc. were pretty good. I added several extra pages to the standard book but it was well worth the cost.

My parents and my brothers loved their Christmas/Birthday/etc. present. While I was visiting, my dad kept picking the book up, flipping though it and showing all visitors.

I was lucky that my old printer needed replacement and was able to purchase an awesome one at a great holiday deal. Oh, Mixbook has lots of specials so if Nick gets started and creates the book, he can wait for the right special! Note: with the scanning and filing, playing with Mixbook, etc. it easily took me 2 weeks working 4-5 hours daily to create the book.

funny swanska, but we did just get a new printer, he lost his camera somewhere in the house and so far, we don't know how to insert the disc and get the photos into picassa.

he has a project if he wants. he manages to get down into the basement and pull out all this crap, so let him pull a box or two off the shelves and i will go thru and empty.

he can easily get lost in photos. i finally joined photo bucket so i can post here, and don't you know it- we have too many pictures in picassa that automatically went into photo bucket so now i have to pay $ to extend the size.
yes, he's nuts when it comes to the grands and i have so many pictures . i keep going thru and deleting but not enough, apparently.

today i go out for 4 hrs with friends, and he can play to his hearts content. i did mention the toast situation and he politely ignored me.
    hmpf.
