oh Fran, so sorry you're feeling this poorly! easier said than done, but try to keep anything in your stomach, can they give you some antinausea meds to take before you take the pain stuff?
and rest - you need to rest, so let yourself be loopy and sleep it off.
    big cyberhugs

OMG, this did make me laugh and that hurts. Just what Betty needs, another creature to have to tend to and who vomits on her good rugs. Eli and I will become best friends. Don't worry Betty, I am still potty trained; haven't lost that yet.

OHfemail and Gingerbailey: Guess I'm doing exactly what I accuse DH of doing, toughing it out. DH did cut the pain med, Narco, in half and it does the job of relieving the pain. Better yet, I'm not getting as nauseous.

This is when I'm really happy that I over made some meals. Have a good weeks worth of heat and serve stuff in the freezer. DH does not mind cooking at all but this makes it so much easier on him.

Next week starts the week after week of birthday parties, cakes and all and I'm panicking. First is DH's and he says he is totally fine with a plain cake but he deserves more than that. What a blessing he is. He went to work late last night then kept calling to make sure I was OK until I told him to stop, I was trying to sleep, LOL.

A little better today, could finally make it down stairs to use the computer. Mardi and Archie are being good; poor Archie wants to play so much. This is the one time I'm wishing for squirrels so he has something to chase.

Thank you all so much. Your support means so much.

Can your Dr try a different pain med? Even taking some Pepcid or Benadryl before the pain med may help. I sure hope you are feeling better very soon!

Think I've pinned down the cause - pyridium. It's turns urine an orange/red, coats the ureters and bladder and helps in healing. After talking to DD, we remembered I had a similar reaction in the past. Going to call the doctor and see if there is an alternative.

Here's something I've heard on several different occasions regarding pain pills and toughing it out. It is better to take them on a schedule, than to wait until you can't take it anymore. By then, it's too late. They are more effective if there is a more level amount in your system rather than peaks and troughs of amounts. Does that make sense?
Fran, I hope you're feeling good soon!
