And I'm pretty sure that most people are not thinking rationally. People thousands of miles away from this "outbreak" (two people) are wearing masks and gloves to go out in public?
Yes mistakes were made and let's contain this thing, but the media and public reaction is overblown beyond any sense of reason.

I have something to say...so, the nurse got on the airplane with a low grade fever because she called the CDC and supposedly they said it was fine. But, as a human, knowing that you had been exposed to this person, and that one of the signs of the disease is a low grade fever, why didn't common sense kick in and she say..."hmmm...Maybe I shouldn't travel even if the fever isn't high enough, and I should go to the hospital here and tell them that they need to isolate me." I also have something to say about Patient 0...He KNEW he had been exposed since he assisted in caring for his sister who died. When he went to the hospital the first time and got sent home, why the heck didn't he say "No! I helped care for a person who died from Ebola." I think these people need to take more responsibility and not blame everyone else for everything. Yes, every entity has made mistakes, but people need to be more responsible for their own actions, too. Rant over....
I guess the statement I have heard is true...90% of people are stupid.
that being said! yes! I am a slight bit worried. I live in Dallas, and I am actually only two degrees separated from someone who works at that hospital...One degree, actually, but I haven't seen them since this whole thing started, but I think my DH' thought might be a more likely scenario for most people. He commented that a person is probably more likely to get bitten by a shar and attacked by a bear in the same day over getting Ebola. Sometimes a little humor is needed.
It wasn't his sister, it was a neighbor. She was pregnant and he thought her symptoms were related to that. It is quite possible he flew here legitimately thinking he had no contact with an Ebola victim. Or maybe he should have just assumed it was a possibility. Hard saying.
Just a couple of facts. Ebola has an incubation period of up to 21 days. The cruise ship that one of Duncan's nurses is on has been refused in both Belize and Mexico.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with being paranoid about this kind of thing. Why go after people who engage in protective measures? If nothing else, you won't catch whatever they have, cold or what have you.
after serving 21 years in the Army and being shot at/bombed for months on end, just do what your trained to do and be positive.
