Joann Fabrics, such a cool store, yes a guy says this

Ok, so I have been to Joann fabrics before and as a guy I try to get what I need and just get the hell out of there. I am a guy and feel uncomfortable in there, kind of feel like when I go into Yankee Candle or Victoria secret, I just shouldn't be in those stores. Until last night.

So, I am working on Hemi's Halloween Costume. While Duck Dynasty was great last year. This year I am making everything and of course Hemi is Helping me make everything. Which makes it really fun for both of us. So anyway, now I am really not wanting to be in the store and then I have to ask some questions on fabrics and I know they are going to ask me what am I making, and I know I am going to say a costume for my dog and I know I am going to just get someone that doesn't understand why. I mean you know the type of person I am talking about someone that would never dream of coming to this forum and learning more about dogs and labs. I grit my teeth and decide to bite the bullet. No anti dog Halloween costume person is going to come between Hemi and me having a great Halloween. So I approach the central desk and ask my question. She then says what are you trying to do. I am like here it comes, and I tell her.

She get this big grin and starts laughing and says the most unexpected thing. She said, "I so love this idea, I love it when people make stuff for their pets. I think it is great." She proceeded to not only answer my question but give me advice on how to do things. Not only that she finds patterns in store for some of the things I want to do for dogs. Who knew they had patterns for dog halloween costumes in there!!! They had bandanas tons of Bandanas, you can actually get all kinds of bandana kits and so on there as well. I went in to buy like maybe $10 of material and walked out spending over $100.

Hemi was in the truck as I walked out looking around and people watching. Like what did you buy dad, I just shook my head. Yeah I spent over $100 at Joann Fabrics for stuff for Hemi.

For those that weren't here last year, or don't remember since they were lost on the forums. Hemi's Duck Dynasty Costume last year.

    So serious.

    Everybody is Happy, Happy, Happy.

Hemi looks so cool! Can't wait to see what you come up with this year!

I love browsing the fabric stores. I have to be careful though or I end up with way too many 'future' projects that I don't have time for. Etsy is also a good place to find supplies and patterns.

I've seen plenty of men in JoAnns maybe because we are in a crafty community. They know their sewing machines and what is needed to make things work.

I've picked up several doggy patterns.

Hemi is going to look awesome!

I have also seen plenty of guys in the fabric store, I don't find anything about this odd at all! As for men in Victorias Secret, they are often so uncomfortable it makes me uncomfortable for them! I can't wait to see Hemi's costume for this year.
