Scary movies are not my thing. Guess it's because DH works at night and is not here.

As a small kid went to the movies with my brother and saw the original War of the Worlds. When the decapitated "head" of the thing poked out, I screamed. To this day I can't watch that movie or any remake of it. Read some Stephen King books until one really upset me. At the end when the creature was supposedly destroyed, the kids still heard it as it was coming after them. Nope - can't do that and won't go to see his movies either. Did see The Birds and Exorcist and was OK with those.

I just remembered another one that scared me when I was a kiddo- "The Legend of Boggy Creek" I was afraid to stand by windows after this movie in case the Big Foot would get me like the guy in the movie (sorry for the spoiler if you plan on seeing this winner) It was even cheesy in the 70's but I remember the fear I had. Fear of Big Foot.

Agree about dolls. I have a phobia for dolls, clowns and mannequins. Even Pinocchio freaks me out.

Our favorites for Halloween are Fright Night (the original) our favorite vampire movie, Lady In White, The Changeling with George C Scott and Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci and Christopher Walken. We rotate these from year to year.
We also really like the traditional ghost stories best including The Others, but we also like all of classics like Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elmstreet. Oh yeah Skeleton Key is a bit spooky. I guess we are dating ourselves. This was the closest smiley to a jack-o-lantern.

What scares me is the stuff like Jaws and the movie about scuba divers left behind because I dive!
