ok, lovely young guyanese nurse came but only works fri, sat, and sun and this is generally not her area.
she cleaned, i watched, and didnt hurt him.

i took pictures and happily cant post them from my iPhone. (good for a diet).she measured, and feels it will heal.
    I'm praying she's right.
showed nick the pictures and he said "you didnt send them to anyone, did you?" . always worried that i will upset my kids.

i look like death warmed over, must now walk the labs, as they never got their walk, will shower and go food shopping. we're in.
cory will attempt to bring kids over sun morning for breakfast. he needs the company of those kids. it will, i believe , help him.

thanks my friends, for listening to me whine, and rant and moan and groan. this has been an awful time and i let it all hang out with you guys.and i love you for listening and responding. it does make me feel better.

i will keep you updated as we go along.

My sister is diabetic and frequently has foot wounds that require daily debridement and packing. She usually does it herself unless it is in an awkward place where it is hard for her to reach. I've helped a few times. For me it isn't the packing of the wound that is that bad but the UNpacking. Ew, pulling out all that gauze. Ew. I feel for you and Nick.

im so sorry. i missed the beginning of this whole thing.
have they considered a wound vac? not sure if that's been an option or not. we've seen good results with that at the specialty office i work at.
    sending healing thoughts!

right now, all they considered is leg up , antibiotics, and daily wound cleaning and stuffing gauze with a bleach like substance.
in two weeks, if i don't call before, we go back.

my friend the shrink, from the pic i sent, feels flap. but, maybe it will start to fill in and heal. please god.

so the nurse came today and i didnt think the wound looked better, or the same. i saw more necrotic tissue so as super doc 1 said, stay close to dr w. , take note of the wound, and i called to be sure. sooooooo, he wants me to call the office and see if the plastic surgeon is in this week to be sure they are doing all they can do.
I'm still hoping he won't need plastic surgery for a flap.
    i can hope , cant i?
