We had the chimney cleaned today and it smells just disgusting. The guy said that the chimney looked good and wasn't very dirty. We've used him before and he's even done repair work. We only burn hardwood. I'm wondering if it always smells that bad but we didn't notice because we didn't have insulation and there were holes in the walls. Maybe it's all getting trapped inside? Any ideas? Does your chimney stink like a hundred ashtrays when it's cleaned?
