    Need opinions

So I wanted everyones opinion if this is a good idea or maybe its too soon. My friend had to have her lab put to sleep on Tuesday. Its been very hard on her as you all can imagine. I had an idea as a gift for xmas I was going to buy her a nice doggie frame and put a picture of her dog in it. I have a nice picture of her when I took her to the mountains for the weekend. I was also going to get her a small xmas tree decoration of a lab angel. I found one of a tri sheltie after I had to put my sheltie down last year and every year she graces my xmas tree. it makes me feel as if shes still with us. I'm getting her another gift this is just an extra gift and I was going to have her open it privately just her and I. I know she will cry and I prob will to so I wouldn't want to ruin her night. So thoughts is it a nice gift or is it too soon? Should I maybe not give it to her on xmas?

I think it's a nice idea. It may be what she needs to help her get through the Holiday without her pup, I know I'd be happy to get a gift like that.

    Do it!
I've done that for a friend who had to put her cat to sleep. She loved the picture and frame and it gave her comfort.
Looking about my past pets always makes me smile. I think your gift will be greatly appreciated!

I think it's a nice idea too. She'll probably cry at Christmas anyway. I've read that many folks find one of the hardest things after losing a loved one, human, is people never say the person's name out loud around them anymore for fear of making them cry. Yes, they'll cry. But they want to remember their loved one and know others do too.

That sounds lovely to me as well. If she puts up a tree, maybe the ornament could be given a little before Christmas, once the tree is up so she can feel like her sweet pup is there with her through the holidays. Then she might not even anticipate your other gifts of the frame/picture and other item. Just a thought, but I'd definitely do those items at some point, how could she not love them?

Any thoughtful gift is nice! We got a few things from friends when Maddy and Hudler passed. Yes, you cry, but its nice when friends think of you.
