I am sorry that your dad is doing this to you. There is a doodle rescue in the US he might look into.
Very sad. You can't save them all but when is family, sort of, it's hard to resist. I think you should though. A baby and a new dog when you don't know the dog is too much to expect of you. I like the rescue and rehoming (to someone else, not you) idea, think that should have been done years ago.

And snowshoe, thank goodness I'm not in school! I would go nuts! I was an elementary teacher but am now a SAHM. And yes, poor dog has needed a new family from the get-go. My sister (who is not an animal person) felt so bad for him at her last visit that she ended up taking him for a walk so that he would have some attention.
