Update on Bett and her broken ankle...

Continuation to this thread: Where's Bett/Betty?

I just talked with Betty via phone, and she's home - 2 days ago. She's drugged, in severe pain, miserable, feels sorry for herself (and rightful so), could cry a river, but still has a bit of sense of humor left in her. I laughed with her, but wanted to cry for her. So extremely sad that this happened - "the worst possible break ever", the surgeon had said. So now, Nick is trying to take care of Bett and himself, while he's still on the mend. Home-care will be coming in to help both her and Nick. Her recovery will take months and months. Slow but steady wins the race, and slow it will be.

I told Bett that people on the board were asking about her and that I posted what I knew at the time. I've passed on your well-wishes, thus far. Bett asks for your thoughts and prayers, and hopes to be back on the board soon.

Thanks for the update, Lisa. As much pain as she's in, I'm sure it's compounded by her concern for Nick, the dogs, and any friends and family having problems. She seems to be the go-to person for so many others. I hope they're stepping up for her now!
