my sympathy goes out to your husband. i was ready to jump. went to the dr 3 times for scripts for oxy. finally, the last time he gave me 90. and my dr doesnt dispense oxy.
I'm starting to think that it lives in the skin and that his "scars" aren't really scars at all but active sites. I asked him to put apple cider vinegar on those areas as well and they have started to fade as a result. This round, everything hurt to start with. He was feeling it in his backside which is just weird.

The whole thing just creeps us out and he's so stressed about possibly going through it again.

It sure is a creepy thing. Mine started out with lower back pain, but I have problems with my back so didn't think much of it. I took my normal back relief meds and nothing was touching the pain, which is extremely unusual. Three days later I developed this rash that just itched to the point of insanity, so I figured I got poison ivy somehow. Finally went to the chiropractor for my back, he took one look at the rash and said I had shingles. What??? Everyone talks about how painful they are, but mine drove me nuts with the itchiness. My family doctor confirmed shingles and said the back pain was the onset. I now know far more about them than I want to, and would be freaking out at the thought of having them again. All good mojo for your DH - I feel for him!

It's so easy to explain away. His started with the back pain and, oddly, butt pain this time but we had a virus and my legs hurt so we didn't think much of it. He's practically bathing in apple cider vinegar at this point and we can literally watch the welts disappear if we catch them quickly enough. He's much better than this time last round. I'm sorry for anyone who's had this. Just a hot mess.
