How did you enjoy the book?
I'm reading The War That Ended Peace by Margaret MacMillan. It's a history of the decades prior to the Great War (what we now call World War I). She describes how crises during those decades were resolved peacefully.
ETA: I haven't reached the description of how, and how quickly (less than seven weeks!), events spiralled out of control after Archduke Franz Ferdinands' assassination. I do know that he was one of the few people who apparently could have counselled caution.
