Just discovered Dick Francis, read Shattered and liked it so I'll continue. Have always liked Tony Hillerman (ya ta hey!) and am now curious to learn about his daughter's efforts.

Dick Francis will keep you busy for a while! I did like the Spider Woman's Daughter- she's shifting her focus more to Jim Chee and his wife, Bernie Manuelito, and it was nice to get back to the southwest.

a couple of Canadian authors i've enjoyed/are enjoying, the Inspector Armand Gamache series by Louise Penny (very good!), and recently discovered the Hazel Micallef series by Inger Ash Wolfe (pen name for Michael Redhill). Also still digesting Your Labrador Retriever Puppy Month by Month (Christmas gift from my SIL). Also close to finishing the Alphabet series by Sue Grafton, as well as the Womens murder club series by James Pattison.
Serious books i've got a lovely limited printing book of Ontario history in etchings and photos that i'm enjoying working thru (not a bedtime book, its too big and heavy!), as well as a fantastic book on carriage history and development, full of wonderful illustrations.

eta: Speaking of which, I heard the author interview on NPR the other day and have this loaded on my Kindle for an upcoming trip: All the Light We Cannot See
    Loved that book!

Recent good reads: Girl on the Train, The Roundhouse, The Goldfinch. I've been reading a few others that I'm less than impressed with.

The Whiskey Rebels by David Liss. It's set after the revolutionary war. It's interesting that they had some of the same issues/concerns about banks, stock market and government that we do today.

Hounded by David Rosenfelt. It's in the Andy Carpenter series. Andy is a defense attorney that was left a huge inheritance and only takes the cases he wants. He had a golden retriever named Tara who he thinks hung the moon.

Just started Devonshire Scream by Laura Childs. It's a mystery series around a tea shop owner in Charleston. She had a rescue dog named Earl Grey.

I just started reading the Maze Runner. Loved the movie. Trying to read all the books before seeing the other movies

For my listening pleasure I just bought Parker Milsap - The Very Last Day.

IRISHWHISTLER - I love that music. Will have to check out Paddy Keenan

Reading 'Why Your World Is About to Get A Whole Lot Smaller' (a clumsy title) by Jeff Rubin and 'The End of Normal' by James Schlesinger. Each approaches from different directions the interesting times that may lie ahead.

I just listened to the mantel clock chime 8PM. The most recent music I listened to was on the oldies station, think it was John Cougar's 'Small Town'.
