    Lost another ten pounds!

I gained a bunch of weight years ago while caring for my MIL and after she went into a nursing home. I just couldn't lose it and I suspect that stress and depression was a big part of it. Posted a while ago about whether or not to toss my old clothes. I literally have clothing in eight sizes.

Lost ten lbs a few months ago and just lost another ten. I know this because I fit into the next level down clothes!

Anyway, just blowing my own horn. I'm super excited that it's happening naturally. I think the low point was four or five years ago when I bought a Wii Fit and it eventually told me that I needed to find another way to lose weight. No kidding. It tells you that if your balance scores are good and you're doing the exercises correctly and still not losing weight. There's nothing like being told this by an animated child.

OK. Just three more pants sizes and I'll be happy.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Congrats! So glad to hear you are having success on the weight loss path. I've found I had to cut down on carbs and increase my exercise to make a difference. Any special tips on what is working for you?

Way to go! Losing weight is not easy especially when you've had it on for a few years.

For me it's stress reduction. If I'm calm and doing what I enjoy doing like gardening and working outdoors, I'm not doing things I shouldn't be doing like compulsive eating and it just comes off. Counting calories, weighing myself all of the time and focusing on losing weight are things that stress me out. So I don't do them. Growing things, raising animals, encouraging blooms, baking really good food, all of that makes me happy so I do that. It turns out that as long as I'm centered psychologically, I'm not trying to compensate for feeling crappy in other ways. Setting reasonable goals is another huge thing for me. I used to be so overwhelmed all of the time. Now I'm just happy about what I can accomplish instead of stressing about what I didn't.
