Heard about that on the news. Understand that the owners truly felt the cat had passed but why didn't they get it checked out first?
Probably the same reason they no longer have the cat and the humane society does...cost?

They will be getting their cat back. This is from their go fund me acct.
"mr Hutson has plans on buliding a seeing room for Bart so the world is welcome to come visit bart after his recovery at no charge he wants to share his miracle with the world only he does not care about the money or the money to be made he just wants his cat Bart to be healthy , He has plans on donating to the shelter some of the funds that are raised and like Mr Hutson Told the director Bart will know have a life time of medical care and expenses . and he plans on using the money just for that the care of Bart..
