We've been going to a friends house for a big Superbowl party for the past 15 years or so. I've made chili, jambalaya, gumbo, several different cheesecakes, and last year home made cinnamon rolls. Since I work as a chef, it's pretty much expected that I out do myself every year. I may make Bailey's cheesecake cupcakes, or maybe mango chicken chili. There is usually 30-40 people at the party, and last year, the ladies wiped out the cinnamon rolls in less than 5 minutes.
Don't allow your happiness to be interrupted by overly judgmental people. The problem is not you, because even if you do good all the time, they would still find a way to judge you wrongly.

I'm probably one of the only ones, but I head out and, depending on the weather, either go hiking or run errands. It is pretty much the only day of the year where I am guaranteed to have whatever place I end up in, to myself! This year the weather won't be so great, but I will still tire the dogs out on a trail and then do my grocery shopping.
Not a football fan and I don't like all the yelling at the television. For some reason, that really bothers me.
However, to answer the question, in the past I have brought chili con queso dip, served warm. Of course, guac and chips, wings, and such are always required. I once went to a superbowl party that served food like lobster tails and chocolate fountains and had a full bar. Also had a nanny to keep the kids entertained. It was weird because I think of the superbowl as an all-American, casual, junk food, and beer kinda occasion.
