it is a sweet-sad thing isnt it.
Last night was GS and GD military ball. With Ken being a senior, it's his last. For Bre, it's her first. I took her yesterday to get her nails done. They both looked so adult.
Time goes by too fast, the grans grow up too quickly. It's the way life should be but it's still a happy/sad time. This past year I've had to do a huge mental adjustment. They are not the kids running around the back yard, jumping in the pool, deviling each other. Well they still devil each other.
In a few short months Ken will be gone, in the Army. He won't be here every Tuesday night for dinner. He won't be here with DH joking around while pretending to get a house project done.
I'll try to get DD to send some pictures so I can post.
OK, I'm in tears now.

Awww. Truly the emotional meaning of the word "bittersweet" isn't it? With some heart bursting proudness thrown in. Congratualtions Grandma, you were and are an important part of all that has been and will be.

Its beautiful and sad all at the same time. But it's the way life is supposed to be. Our children and grandchildren go off and make their own lives. I'm in tears now too.

Fran, I know exactly how you feel.

Pass the tissues. Aren't you lucky to share these moments with them?
