I too have a dyson-- was amazed at what it was able to suck out of the carpet after using my previous pet hair eraser by Bissell.. actually was it was frightening what was in the canister... I would recommend waiting for a sale.. saw some awesome sales on Dyson vacuums at Lowes this weekend.. I waited and got my dyson dc41 animal in 2012 and purchased it through Kohls when they had a 30% coupon sale and kohls cash back! I also shopped for it online through Ebates and got percentage back that way so it was a phenominal deal! Luckily the downstairs is hard wood floor with rough cedar base boards.. so I understand the tumble weeds of dog hair floating around when walking. I have 2 labs and 3 house cats.. I don't keep an immaculate house or I would do nothing but spend time vacumming and dusting! I have a whole house vacuum system so when floors are really bothersome or hairballs are very large just take the swiffer and sweep them into the under the counter kick plate! As long as you have labs it would not matter what you are using unless you are committed to it daily!!! Good luck!

As the saying goes "No outfit is complete without dog hair"!!
I could vacuum everyday, but I have limited myself to 2x per week. Bagless for this reason, I can't imagine the expense of changing a bag everytime I vacuum.
Dyson does seem to be running some sales this week, not sure if it's time for new released or not.
Its either run to the local Walmart and buy something under $50 just to get me thru the down time (and then just have it as a back up), or spend the money on something decent.
The Shark was a splurge for me. I never bothered spending much on a vacuum, considered them "disposable" in the past, but as I age I am more thoughtful, financially & environmentally.

Are you kidding me? That's crazy! Wallymart time to grab a cheapo. Our vacuum is fine and there's only one lab in the house and DW goes NUTZ trying to keep up with the dog hair. She says she wants to spin it into yarn to sell and make money off it all. Lol

I have 2 dyson animals love them both. The second one is a refurbished one off of eBay. Works great and looked brand new to me for half the price!

When I had my Dyson in the shop for a cleaning and tune up I ended up buying a second vacuum on amazon (gotta love Prime) because I couldn't stand not being able to vacuum up the dog hair. I keep that vacuum upstairs because the dogs aren't allowed up there and my Dyson on the main level of the house because it works best with the dog hair.

I had my Dyson worked on at a local vacuum repair shop. They cleaned all of the dust and dirt out of it and replaced a worn belt. They also replaced a cracked hose to the wand attachment and a plastic clip on the back where you wind the cord around. My Dyson Animal is pretty old ((I think I've had it for 12-13 years) and still works like a charm.
