Is there any way to fasten an long line around a tree or some other stationery object that can not be broken/pulled out or away?
I am planing on going on a trip to Sante Fe , NM and then to Oury , CO. The intention is to camp in Ouray for several weeks. This is totally in the works and supplies and equipment are beeng seperated and purchased. I will be taking Molly with me and was wondering if any if you use a pole or something to tie your dogs to. I just want to make sure she does not vanish on me. Any other recomendations would be appreciated.

Get a carabiner and hook it to the hold loop, your end of the leash. On a short rest stop you can clip the carabiner through the latch on your car door or the hatchback. You can loop the leash around some stationary object (a tree or picnic table leg) and clip the carabiner back to the leash.

just don't forget it's there when you drive off. LOL
seriously, years ago I bought a leather leash like this made by the amish at a flea market, had to ask someone what the other hook was for, never used it, took the hook off, still have the leash, just make sure it's long enough to start with because you use up so much length wrapping the tree. good idea though.

Not sure what your looking for exactly? Are you looking for when camping what to do while at tent and or RV? or something else?
What I do with Hemi is I have a 30 ft leash, we use it for training and stuff but taking it camping its great. I still got a hold on it so if it gets taught then I know he is up to something.
If your looking for something like a leash for walking and need like quick way to tie up Molly then I really recommend Ruffwears slackline leash. It is a quick release system on the Human end so it can go from wrist to waist or around a tree or pole if needed quickly. You can thank Hemi for them finally putting metal buckles on them. They used to have plastic buckles and Hemi used his one years guarantee up as he broke 6 of them. They replaced them all no questions. Finally they went to all metal.

We do this when we take road trips with Thor. It's easy to clip him in to the rings on the hitch mount on the back of our truck when we stop at a rest stop/gas station and want to feed him or give him some water.
In camp, he's either tethered like that (in a campground) or off leash (when we dispersed camp). When he's off leash he has a GPS collar on. He shows no prey drive and has never even looked like he's thinking of taking off - in fact he's such a velcro dog that if he wanders more than 50 ft away he looks nervous and comes running back, but we still keep it on him for safety in case he does bolt. It tracks him from up to 2.5 miles away.
My friend, who trains and rescues retired SAR German Shepherds, uses a big ExPen in camp for her boys. It works really well for her so you might want to consider that option too.

We camp with our four about 4 - 6 times each year.
We use two exercise pens joined together and with a mat on the ground for them to lie on. We also have an easy up canopy that goes over the top of their pen for shade. This is all set up for them immediately after arrival at the campsite. Once they are in their special place, we give them each a beef bone and they are content while we set up for ourselves. They have been trained to go straight from the vehicle to their pen and/or into our RV using the command "kennel".
They love going camping with us and can barely contain their excitement when they see us begin to load up…this photo was taken on our most recent trip the weekend of May 1st of this year...
Have a great time.
