And honking back at them does not make them move faster.

LOL, this happened here the other day a 4 lane road was at a stand still. The guy in front of me got out of his car and was quacking and flapping his arms like the chicken dance trying to get them to cross the road faster.

    hahaha that's hilarious!

Happened to me 3ish weeks ago on 4 lane highway. Jersey barriers on each side so I pulled over, a cop pulled behind me and asked what the problem was I said theres a hen and 8 chicks. He's like what do you suggest? I said I have a crate, a bucket and a blanket get the hen with the blanket put her in the crate and then the chicks will come then put them in the bucket. HA! that didn't work... 20min later, 4 lanes of traffic on a 70mph highway stopped and me yelling at the cop once to man up and pick up a chick we had all 8 chicks rescued. I chased the mom off the highway into the nearby field(since we couldn't catch her) and then I got close enough for her to hear the chicks in the bucket and dumped them off. At the end cop was like kinda ironic the guy busting his butt to save the ducks has a ducks unlimited sticker on the back of his truck.

LOL if you don't save the young there will be no need for the sticker
