    Bamps, how do you cope?

It's 95 degrees up here in the great white north! I'm dying. Bamps, how do you do it?

I complain a lot here in Arizona!!! Then I tell myself to suck it up.....the beautiful weather will be back for longer then this miserable heat is here, then I complain some more. I also hibernate inside and watch way too much Netflix, unless I'm in water.

It's always hot here in the South East but the humidity is what does most people in. Today's forecast is 95deg with a heat index of 105!
Last Saturday I had to remove a tree that fell in my yard and across my fence I must have gone through a gallon and a half of water my cloths were soaked within a 1/2 hr of starting.
Oddly enough I usually say the same thing about y'all up north in winter as we only have a few days that the temperature doesn't get above 32deg where as you have month(s) below 32deg.

I thought about him last week and checked the last day that he posted.

All this week is going to be a heat wave. I wish Cookie and his fountain were closer.

That fountain has been a saviour for many, many humid summers! Imagine just standing and sweating! That's how humid it is right now.

I also do hope that Bamps and Opie are okay. I really hope to see some pictures from their adventures!

Since the flood we have been without central ac until they replace the duct work. So we bought a little window ac that has been humming from sunup to sundown and then some with the humidity. Along with the window ac, we have ceiling fans going and blinds closed to keep it as cool as we can for us and especially the furry critters.

day 3 of really hot and sticky weather.... Scout has water to play in, the house has airconditioning, its absolutely fabulous sitting on the deck watching the sunset in nice warm temperatures. Seriously, right about now when i see the pictures i posted from last winter, like this:

I about cry.... although snow is fun to play in, and the dogs love it, the thought of those short cold snowy days, and shoveling and plowing, oh man. I do prefer spring, summer and fall. I'm off to Savannah Thurs for the long weekend, and somebody said, yuk, isn't it going to be hot and humid, yes, yes it will be, and i will be wandering around the shady squares with a nice fresh-squeezed lemonade in my hand, loving it!

You know I was thinking, aside from Hemi's injury this has been the best summer I have had in a very long time. I made some moves this year to reclaim my back yard, the whole reason I bought the house and they have worked quite well and I have a plan to make next year even better now.

First some may remember I got a Gazebo, which has been fantastic. What Hemi did this weekend, he helped do yard work. Then Hiring someone to come and spray Mosquitoes on my property has also been awesome. Hemi and I are no longer attacked out in the yard, we don't have to duck and run all times of the day. It has just been so pleasant. Then in the early evening the gazebo has screens which I pull shut and that keeps and of the real tough ones at bay. I also got a fan in there that is a cooling fan, it has a light mist of cold water. It drops the temperature about 10-15 degrees on my deck. For those that might ask about it. Shop Lasko 14.85-in 3-Speed Oscillation Misting Misting Fan at Lowes.com

Saturday night Hemi and I were outside from noon until 1 a.m. We grilled out lunch and dinner, played in the yard, come up on the deck to cool off or get in the pool. Last night it was 93 degrees out and Hemi and I went for a swim and then hung out on the deck until after dark. Heat and all this has been one the best summers. I think I have spent more time outside this year than I have total all the other years since I bought the house. It's not much and I think total cost this year I spent was about $1000 on the back yard and deck and pool but it certainly made a difference.

Dad, I think its time we go for another dip in the pool.
